FAU INTEGRA says goodbye
The Forum for Integration and Intercultural Dialogue FAU INTEGRA existed at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg since winter 2015 and was financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. With a project duration of seven years, the project ended in December 2022. From the beginning, FAU INTEGRA saw itself as a central networking point for all FAU activities related to refugees. The central goal was the integration of refugee researchers and students at FAU as well as academic reflection on foreignness and cultural diversity. FAU INTEGRA organized and coordinated, among other things, various counseling and course offerings for refugees at FAU, which was perceived by over 2,000 people as an opportunity to enter the university and professional world in Germany. FAU INTEGRA contributed to the academic discussion of topics related to fleeing, migration, integration and interculturality by organizing and conducting lecture series, readings, seminars and discussions. As part of the open event format “Kulturforum”, a diverse cultural offering of exhibitions, workshops, concerts and theater performances took place. Not least thanks to the commitment and involvement of all its partners and supporters, FAU INTEGRA was able to create a multi-layered, lively and open platform for the – still highly topical – issue of fleeing, migration and integration. As we say goodbye, the project hopes to have inspired you and all participants to work on the topic of integration as a task for society as a whole.
